Re: January transfer window
Interesting about Adrian. Maybe he's just not willing to sit on the bench? I think it's a bit daft to be changing keepers when pretty much every outfield position has been the issue this season, and might only unsettle the squad further.

Re: January transfer window
we will be fine , 10th/12th looks good for the end of the season , throwing money about in this window might get you to 8th/9th , no i would wait until the summer .

Re: January transfer window
I think it entirely depends on what happens in the next 5 or 6 games before the end of the window. In those games we have Swansea, Palace, Middlesborough and Leicester. Another couple of wins in those games will unbelievably more or less guarantee we'll survive, based on the number of wins relegated teams usually get.

Re: January transfer window
I don't expect anything big this January window. I think the bigger changes, in and out, will come in the summer possibly under a new manager.

Neil
Correct as usual mate. January is never a buyers market so unless either an outstanding opportunity presents itself or we collapse - expect nothing but shipping out the dead wood of which there is a near forest

Re: January transfer window
To have 5 players as listed in the article come in in the summer and be dumped by January is shocking. Wouldn't miss any of them though.
If there is quality about like Schneiderlin we need to be trying for it and obviously we need a right back.

Re: January transfer window
Lets face it the only players which teams will want are the ones we don't want to get rid of. How long until the likes of Kouyate beg to go to Spurs again.

Here we are again under these amateur fucking wanker owners.

Been here before with these cunts.

Our summer signings were fucking pathetic..and now we have this charade yet again.

Fucking sick of the cunts

Re: January transfer window
Moan about the owners all you like, it's getting boring as hell hearing the same thing from the same people.

IMO It could be far worse.
Perhaps you'd prefer Venkys, the bloke at Cardiff who changed the colour of the shirts, the Hull bloke who wanted to change the name of the club, the bloke who took over Fulham and invested nothing or the twat at QPR who blew millions on crap players and came out with loads of bull about how great they were going to be.

There are very few owners who invest wisely and can run a club properly.
Yes I'd love us to invest in amazing players and a decent manager too but that's just how it is.

Re: January transfer window
Summer was a stinker, but to be fair their track record over the previous two or three seasons is very good. It's all very quickly forgotten though.

People criticised the loan to buy thing they were doing, but to be honest, it's a huge relief that we can send Tore and Zaza back and try again. Imagine if we'd have paid close to 40 million for the pair on permanent transfers with long contracts... I think it's not a bad way to go about things if you're unsure about a player.

Anyway, I hope they make the right moves this time round. Another window like the summer and we'll be bang in trouble.

A right back and a striker of repute, please. (and adequate or better replacements than the players who leave- which shouldn't be too difficult in some cases...)

Re: January transfer window
If the third bottom team continues to accumulate points at the current rate until the end of the season then we will need 31pts, i.e., 12 more points. I tall order I reckon. If we can sign a goalie, a rb, a lb, oh and a CB another centre back, as well as 4 midfield players and maybe a striker or two, we might just be in fairyland and stay up.
Then the same old rubbish can begin again next year.

Re: January transfer window
Leroy,
Surely, you don't want "the post sold" He played well, kept his position and when required showed a bit more movement than his teammates

Re: January transfer window
I would put Antonio in the same category. He may not have much finesse but his drive and goal threat would be badly missed if he wasn't around.

Re: January transfer window
I think Wenger is going to finally bite the bullet, and slap in a 30 million bid for Noble as a last ditch attempt to save their title aspirations.

Re: January transfer window
I'd be more focused on trying to offload our shit rather than buying. The summer is the time for buying.
